A New Spring Coat

With the onset of Spring in MN (well, it's kind of spring - ignore the forecast for tomorrow that includes 6" of snow) I realized that I am without a nice Spring Coat. I was tempted to buy one, but all my sewing project are almost completed so I figured - why not give it a shot? I got this pattern on sale at Jo-Anns for $1 during their Simplicity sale- pretty hard to beat. I'll be making view "D" - it's the one at the very bottom with the white/pink print. I went fabric shopping with Carlye today and we decided this Amy Butler print would be just perfect (thanks for the suggestion Carlye - I think this is much better than the original print I had picked out). After looking through the pattern with this fabric - I decided it was just too busy. D-rings, back and front yokes, shoulder and arm tabs - I just wanted simple - so I decided to alter the pattern (cross your fingers!). I've got half of the peices cut and hope to finish it by next weekend (we'll see).
